Seeking RVT or Veterinary Assistant - Sonoma

Alta Equine is a fully ambulatory equine veterinary practice based out of Sonoma, CA, dedicated to providing advanced on-farm veterinary care.

We are seeking a full-time veterinary technician or assistant to join our one-doctor team working exclusively with performance horses. This position is 4 days per week, 10-hour days.

Responsibilities:

• Safely handle excitable horses (jogging, lunging, restraint, etc.)
• Prepare horses for procedures and assist with imaging (including radiographs) and treatments/medications
• Maintain inventory and equipment on the work vehicle
• Lift and manage heavy equipment as needed
• Drive the work vehicle safely
• Perform basic laboratory work
• Interact professionally with clients, trainers, and barn staff
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinic operations using computer systems

Requirements:
Applicants with RVT credentials or experience in equine medical care will be prioritized.

• Extensive horse-handling skills
• Self-starter with ability to work independently
• Valid US driver’s license and clean driving record
• Strong organizational and computer skills
