Experienced Horse Person Wanted — Volunteer / Horse-Time Exchange Millwood Ranch, Pacifica, CA

I'm looking for a reliable, experienced horse person who would enjoy spending regular time with my horse in exchange for helping with his care and exercise.

Avadon is a 16-year-old, 16.2hh Thoroughbred gelding and a very special horse to me. He is an experienced, well-trained horse who benefits from consistent attention, grooming, groundwork and appropriate exercise.

I'm currently transitioning Avadon into a new leasing arrangement and building a dependable team around him. During this transition, I would love to find someone who genuinely enjoys being around horses and is looking for horse time without necessarily being in a position to own or lease one.

I'm looking for someone who already has solid horse-handling experience and knows how to:

Groom and handle a horse safely and confidently

Lunge correctly and responsibly

Hand-walk and hand-graze

Do basic groundwork

Recognize when something doesn't look or feel right

Follow established instructions and communicate reliably

This is not an advertisement for free riding. Riding is not guaranteed and would only be considered separately based on experience, compatibility with Avadon, and my approval.

As his lease schedule develops, leasers will have priority on their scheduled days, so flexibility and communication are important. I would be happy to coordinate other available time for the right person.

Most importantly, I'm looking for someone dependable, kind and respectful who genuinely loves horses and would enjoy developing a relationship with Avadon while helping me keep him active, cared for and happy.
