Sonoma, CA – Rescued Hearts, a moving feature‑length documentary directed by award‑winner Krisanna Sexton and produced by Dana Croschere, will have a special premiere screening on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the historic Sebastiani Theatre in downtown Sonoma. The event, presented by the Square Peg Foundation, begins at 2:30 PM, celebrating the profound relationships between humans and horses that transform lives.

Rescued Hearts explores the extraordinary bond between humans and horses through deeply personal stories—from a non‑verbal autistic child taking his first steps toward speech, to veterans and trauma survivors rediscovering trust and purpose. Through heartfelt narratives and scientific insights, the film invites audiences to witness how horses act as catalysts for healing—not only for individuals but communities at large.

Square Peg Foundation is one of several programs from all over the globe to be featured in the film.

With a 1‑hour‑58‑minute runtime, the documentary spans the U.S. and was born from a life‑changing moment when a 7‑year‑old spoke his first words to a horse. The film goes on to explore the science, mystery, and magic of equine‑assisted healing.
