Cody is a Registered Paso Fino Trail Horse extraordinaire. He is absolutely a blast to ride, but unfortunately had an accident in January where a leashed dog lunged at him, and he seems to have lost confidence in me since I 'abandoned' him on the ground. I was lucky not to break anything, but at my age, he really would be more suitable for a younger person who wants to ride a LOT!! He is coming 18, but has the legs, feet, heart and lungs of a 10-year-old- I fully expect he has 10 years of riding left......which is why I bought him last year.
He is 14HH with new shoes, and tapes at 800 lbs. I'm 5'7' and not a lightweight, and he carries me up and down the Woodside and Portola Valley hills barely raising a sweat. He has high brio, and is reactive and sensitive- more so than before his big spook. He is extremely light to the bit and legs; prefers to go in front because he's so fast, but will trail behind. Not buddy- or barn-sour. Up-to-date with vaccinations, teeth-cleaning; sheath-cleaning; with no apparent metabolic problems.
He is Corto-gaited with an excellent long flat walk.
