Candy: 14.2 hand Palomino Pinto Quarter Pony Mare. $3,500
I am ONLY selling this stunning mare to a loving & caring home because I recently acquired another horse into my program and have one too many at the moment.
I purchased Candy last December to be a walk/trot lesson horse. She had been ridden western up until I acquired her. She is sensitive to the leg and tenses up a bit if a rider flops around. I have been working towards making her unflappable and we are making tremendous progress! I use her for my steadier kiddos walk trot and for lunge lessons and she has been lovely. I have cantered her under saddle a couple of times and she was a bit tense. She canters beautifully on the lunge line on both leads, but I have not been cantering her under saddle as I can feel that she is a bit nervous about it.
Candy has an old scar (a foot long or so) on her left shoulder from a barbed wire fence from when she was younger. She also has a scar on her right pastern from an old summer sore. They are all healed up now and do not bother her whatsoever. She is a lovely mover.
She loads, clips, bathes. Does not weave or crib. She hangs out quietly and happily in her stall and in the turn outs. She is shod up front and barefoot behind. Super easy keeper and no maintenance.
This mare would thrive in a situation where someone had some more time/training to put into her. She is as kind and sweet as could be. I have never even seen her pin her ears. She walks around the ranch fearlessly and is not spooky.
All of this being considered… she is priced accordingly. Could make someone an absolutely lovely and beautiful horse, but would likely need more finishing.
Please PM for videos under saddle.
