Beautiful All-Black Andalusian Thoroughbred Cross Mare for Lease in Petaluma/Santa Rosa border First Level Dressage

Wren is a beautiful 20-year-old Andalusian/Thoroughbred cross mare who is exceptionally well-maintained and still feels athletic and forward-thinking in her work. She is willing, responsive, and genuinely fun to ride, with a soft mouth and a sensitive, refined feel.

She is best suited for an intermediate to advanced rider with soft hands and a calm, confident approach. Wren goes best with a relaxed, balanced rider who enjoys a responsive, thinking horse and values connection over force. She is safe, sane, and has no buck, rear, or bolt—her sensitivity is about responsiveness, not unpredictability.

Wren enjoys having a job and feels her best with consistent, thoughtful riding. She is currently working at First Level dressage and is in excellent condition. She would be a great match for someone who wants to maintain a horse’s fitness and enjoy a rewarding ride a few days each week.

She lives in turnout year-round with access to a box stall, and the box stall or barn are really nice making grooming and tacking  (nice tackroom also) easy and pleasant. She can be ridden on trails, and with a confident rider she settles in nicely—she simply appreciates a quiet, thoughtful introduction to new environments.

This has been a long-term lease situation, with her previous rider riding her for seven years. Due to a schedule change, Wren is now looking for a new rider to spend consistent time with her.

The barn is a relaxed, low-drama environment with a supportive group of riders. I’m looking for someone who is responsible in shared spaces and enjoys being part of a positive, respectful barn community. Dressage instruction and on-site lesson options are available if desired.

Lease Details:

2 days per week (with the possibility of additional days depending on my schedule offered at no additional charge)
$300/month (owner covers vet, board, and farrier)
