About Us: The Fencing Pony is looking for a reliable and experienced Barn Manager to help maintain our stable and ensure the well-being of our horses. We are a private facility looking for someone who takes pride in their work and has a keen eye for equine health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Feeding: Measuring and dispensing grain and hay according to specific dietary charts.
Mucking: Cleaning and maintaining paddocks for up to 6 horses.
Manure Management: Managing the composting system to ensure proper breakdown and cleanliness.
Property Maintenance: General upkeep of the facility (checking fence lines, scrubbing water troughs, sweeping barn aisles, etc.).
Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience handling horses and maintaining a stable is required. You must be comfortable around horses of various temperaments. References: Professional references attesting to your reliability and horse experience are required. Reliability: We need someone punctual and consistent. Physicality: Must be able to lift 50+ lbs (hay bales, feed bags) and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Compensation: $20 per hour.
Schedule: Mon-Fri (weekends off)
