Apollo is a sweet, sensitive 10 yr old 16.3hh Hanoverian gelding with exceptional breeding, beautiful movement, and a solid groundwork foundation. He is an intelligent, people oriented horse who thrives with consistency and thoughtful handling and is best suited for an experienced horseperson or trainer looking for a quality restart project.

He has an in-your-pocket personality and is extremely kind and affectionate. He is calm around the barn, non aggressive, lowest in the herd hierarchy, and enjoys having a job. His sensitivity is a defining trait and becomes a real strength once trust and clarity are established.

Apollo is a naturally beautiful mover with a balanced way of going and lovely head and neck carriage. He loves trails and is confident, relaxed, and the coolest of cucumbers in new environments. He also enjoys free jumping and has an excellent groundwork base including obstacle work, in hand work, and long lining. He responds well to positive reinforcement and consistent training.

Apollo was lightly started under saddle by his breeder/previous owner and restarted every couple of years, mostly left turned out. He hasn’t had any consistency in his training and would be an incredible horse for someone who has the resources.

Apollo is for sale only because I returned to horse ownership after a serious riding accident in 2017. He is my first horse as an adult, and while he is a wonderful horse with enormous potential, I do not have the confidence, skills, or financial resources to continue his training journey. He deserves a capable, patient person who can continue his education and appreciate his sensitivity as an asset, not a flaw.
