Spring Down Equestrian Center

Spring Down Equestrian Center (SDEC) serves the Bay Area with exceptional riding lessons and horse boarding facilities.  SDEC has been at the same location in Portola Valley since 1984.  Our mission is to facilitate all who are interested to see the world through a horse's eyes and to promote the human/horse connection.  We prioritize safety while having fun!

Our professional instructors specialize in English Hunt seat.  We have show quality, kind, and safe horses for every level rider – from beginner to advanced – who can teach you everything you want to know about riding.

We offer boarding and have inside box stalls in the main barn. The outside box stalls have spacious attached paddocks.  The facility has two lighted arenas, one open and one covered. SDEC's location offers access to miles of trails around Portola Valley and to Windy Hill Open Space.

We have many special programs, including Spring, Summer and Holiday camps for children ages 6+ and a drill team where you can learn to have a horse dance to the music..
