Bowie - Arab Cross

Bowie is an Arab cross gelding, approximately 18 years old, 14.2 hands. He was rescued in March 2022 and has had 2 years of groundwork training, round pen, arena and trail riding. He loads, ties, stands for clipping and the farrier, does well in the wash rack and is sweet around children. He is barefoot and has never had any problems with his feet. He has great ground manners, lunges well in the round pen and is a fantastic listener. Knows all the voice commands and responds promptly. Bowie is very smart and picks up new training extremely quickly. He loves being out on the trail with friends and is great to hop on and tool around in the arena. He is up to date on vaccines, dental work and farrier trimming. He had x-rays done in March 2022 and they came back fully clear, no signs of arthritis or joint/bone disease. Bowie is very friendly and comes up to you immediately in the field. He is currently turned out with other geldings during the day and is very easy going and falls into any herd. Bowie does not have any special maintenance or needs. I currently ride Bowie with a dressage saddle but I know he was previously ridden with Western tack, he could go either way. Bowie is versatile and is smart enough to do whatever it is that you would like, he could go in a number of directions. Bowie is extremely gentle with my 3 children but would not do well as a beginner horse for a young child. Bowie needs a consistent partner who has the time to commit to their relationship under saddle and his care. Due to working full time and raising my kids I am finding I just don’t have the time Bowie deserves, so I made the very difficult decision of finding a new owner for him.
