Located in Wunderlich Park, boarders have access to 942 acres of biodiversity and 17 miles of dog-less, bike-less trails, a groomed riding arena and round pen. The historic Main Barn & outer barns all feature covered stalls. Wunderlich's all-weather trails are wide, well-groomed, and suitable for all gaits. The trails easily connect to other Mid-Peninsula parks such as Huddart Park via the Skyline Trail. Horses live in covered stalls, either in the historic Main Barn or one of the outer barns. They receive 4 hours of turnout daily, 7 days a week and each turnout is equipped with a porta-grazer. Folger Stables provides twice a day feeding, blanketing and 7 days a week night supervision. Rancho Viejo
 

BAEN MemberRancho Viejo: one of the best barns in Portola Valley! Rancho Viejo is located about 2 minutes off the Alpine exit of highway 280 and is an easy drive from almost anywhere in the San Francisco bay area. Rancho Viejo is a very friendly, low-key place with excellent amenities for horse and rider. We have 4 arenas: 1 covered with lights, 1 large outdoor arena with jumps and lights, 1 dressage arena with lights and a round pen. You can ride pretty much any time within reason (7 am to 9 pm, more or less) every day. We have 200 acres of pasture for trail riding, as well as several on-site training barns: dressage, hunter-jumper, cowboy dressage and western. Rancho Viejo feeds a 60-40 alfalfa-oat cube twice a day; for an extra charge, we also feed hay. Stalls are cleaned every day except Sundays, we have automatic waterers, and we bed in shavings (lots!). There are a lot of stall-paddock combinations, but you have to move in to a stall and put yourself on the waiting list to get one. We do have, however, several large & small turnouts that you are welcome to use so long as you remain on the property. We have two wash racks and several large tack rooms. We also have a lay-up and retired horse pasture. Rancho Viejo is the site of a popular dressage schooling show series, as well as some team roping events. Hidden Ranch Equestrian
 
BAEN MemberLooking for a quiet place to keep your horse? Come to Hidden Ranch Equestrian, just minutes away from the Bay Area in peaceful Knightsen. Nestled in the vines and farmlands northeast of Livermore between Brentwood, Antioch and Byron. We are a small, private boarding, retirement and lay-up facility. Our nine stall steel barn has 12x24 covered pipe paddocks, with automatic waterers, lighting, and fly control system. The adjoining Covered Sand Arena (96x125) is enclosed with sprinklers and dragged daily. Stalls are fed and cleaned twice a day, with turnout offered at no additional cost. For the outdoor horse, we have ten 1/3 to 1/2 acre no climb fencing pens with hotwire, 3 sided shelters and automatic water troughs and large plastic feed bins. The larger pens are intended to accommodate 2 to 3 horses. Cleaning is once weekly. All horses are fed a variety of quality hay twice a day. Lunch is optional. Supplements are fed at no additional cost if pre-packaged. Our large All Season Outdoor Sand Arena (115x230) is also watered and dragged daily with lighting for evening riding. For those who like to challenge their horse, we have an Obstacle/Trail Course and for conditioning a riding track around the inside of our 5 acre pasture. There is a 60' Solid Round Pen and 50' Pipe Round Pen for lungeing. Two, lighted, covered wash racks with rubber matting and a portable Insta-Hot Wash System is available for use. The entire 18 acre property is fenced with security gates at the entrance and access gates to surrounding properties and trails. Trailer parking is available at no cost.
